The Williston Fitness Center offers fitness classes for all fitness levels. You can expect to be encouraged and challenged by our enthusiastic instructors! Each class is uniquely designed to give you a great workout and keep you coming back for more!
Any member of the Williston Fitness Center ages 12 and up is welcome to attend classes free of charge.
Class size may be limited due to equipment and space requirements. Please arrive on time as instructors may deny you access to class if you arrive after the warm-up period.
The Williston Fitness Center reserves the right to cancel class due to low attendance.
Group Fitness Schedules
Please register for these classes through Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services online or by calling 952.939.8203. Most of these classes are included in the Williston Fitness Center membership; those which have an additional charge are listed at the end of this list.
Group fitness classes: free for members
All drop-in group fitness classes are free, with the exception of Kettlebell Strong and Kettlebell/TRX which requires pre-registration and a fee.
Class size may be limited to equipment and space requirements, and instructors may not allow you to participate if you arrive late and/or miss the warm-up exercise.
The Williston Fitness Center reserves the right to cancel any class due to low attendance.
All spin, SilverSneaker classes and the Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday a.m. yoga classes require a ticket. A ticket can be picked up 30 minutes prior to the start of the class and will reserve your spot in class. Please hand in your ticket to the instructor upon arrival.
This class will be a combination of cardio and strength. Come prepared for a challenging workout!
This class does not include any cardio. Strength equipment includes: body bars, stability balls, free weights, and bands. Formatted for all skill levels, this class will help you sculpt, tone and burn to the level you desire!
Low to moderate intensity, increases range of motion and improves tone and strength for daily activities. This class is open to people with arthritis, hip replacements or other musculoskeletal problems. Class size limited to 25. Ticket required to reserve a space in class. Tickets are available 30 minutes prior to start of class.
This class offers ballet-inspired movements, yoga and traditional muscle sculpting exercises to strengthen and tone the body, improve cardiovascular fitness and increase flexibility. We use mostly our own body weight but also mix in light weights, balls and other tools to offer variety and a super effective workout. The music is motivating and the class is fun!
This high energy class will challenge and strengthen you from head to toe! This class includes cardio intervals mixed with strength training and core. A wide variety of equipment (hand weights, BOSU, Body Bars, etc) will be used to get a great full body work out.
Class combines several cardio formats such as step, hi/lo, plyometrics and sports conditioning drills for a fat-burning workout.
Non-impact aerobic workout with toning and stretching. Participants must be self-sufficient in the water. Ticket required to reserve a space in class. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to the start of class.
Burn calories with short cardio intervals, while gaining lean muscle and increasing strength by targeting every muscle group. Class is formatted for all skill levels.
High Intensity Interval Training alternates between high bursts of activity and fixed periods of less-intense activity. This workout will use a variety of equipment bodyweight exercises, plyometric drills, body bars, BOSU and more.
Hatha Yoga (60 and 75 minute classes offered)
An ancient tradition nourishing mind, body and spirit through breath work and postures. Yoga builds strength, flexibility, balance and stamina bringing powerful results. Modifications are available for individuals who have any injuries or who are pregnant. Beginners to advanced participants welcome.
Try this four-week class! The Kettlebell is an amazing resistance training tool that will help build strength, power, endurance and cardio conditioning in one workout. This class wil teach you the basic movements such as the swing, snatch, clean and jerk, while engaging the entire body. This workout is done in bare feet or flat-soled shoes. Class requires pre-registration and fees do apply.
This 45-minute express class combines the best of both Kettlebell and TRX classes in a functional and powerful class with intervals of cardio work. It's perfect for those on the fast track to reaching their health and fitness goals. This is the ultimate class for extreme all-around fitness. Class requires pre-registration and fees do apply. Class limited to 6 participants.
Class concentrates on posture, stability, flexibility and the Pilates power house of the core to create a balanced and streamlined body.
This is a challenging class for beginners and the seasoned yoga enthusiast. This class integrates many styles of yoga including traditional sun salutations, holding poses and some creative vinyasa flow. Balance, core strength, stretching, breathing and meditation are combined to leave you feeling strong, stretched and centered.
A resistance training class perfect for men and women of all ages. Also includes abdominal work and flexibility training, and cardio intervals.
High-energy workout that masterfully combines an easy, yet effective, cardiovascular routine interlaced with weights and resistance. It's fun, created for all fitness levels and will produce results.
Senior Spin & Stretch
This is a 60-minute indoor cycling class for 62-plus years and takes place on a fully adjustable stationary bicycle. The bike offers a customized fit and fixed gear drive. The class end with a stretching component to improve flexibility. Ticket required to reserve a bike. Tickets available 30 minutes before start of class.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Ticket required to reserve space in class. Combine fun and fintess to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work using handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. Ticket required to reserve space in class. Spin & CORE
This spinning class combines basic cycling movements and also works the body's core muscles which are the foundation for all movements of the body and make for a strong pedal stroke. Class includes 30 minutes of spinning and 30 minutes of core and stretching. Tickets required to reserve space in class. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to start of class. Class size limited to 15 participants.
Spin & Strength
30-minute spin class followed by 30 minutes of strength workout including upper and lower body exercises and core work. Ticket required to reserve space in class. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to start of class. Class size limited to 15 participants.
Spin & Stretch
Class incorporates 40 minutes of Spin followed by 20 minutes of stretching to elongate your muscles after your long ride. Ticket required to reserve bike. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to start of class. Class size limited to 12 participants.
Indoor cycling class held in an instructor-led format where participants ride on a fully stationary bike. This bike offers a customized fit and fixed gear drive. An exhilarating workout that can benefit all abilities. Ticket required to reserve a space in class. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to start of class.Class size limited to 23 participants.
Trim ‘N’ Tone (TNT)
TNT is formatted for all skill levels, helping you sculpt, tone and burn to the level you desire in a dynamic group setting. Burn calories without the intense cardio, while gaining lean muscle and increasing strength by targeting every muscle group.
Tabata is an intense exercise program designed to get the entire body involved. With the use of dumbbells, body bars, stability balls and body weight, the premise for Tabata is 20 seconds of high-intensity, fat burning exercise with 10 seconds of rest throughout a series of rest throughout a series of 4-6 exercises. There will be a one-minute rest period between rounds working up to 6-8 rounds. Class is 30 minutes in length.
Tai Chi is an ancient practice proven to reduce pain and improve your mental and physical well-being. Tai Chi can deliver relief from pain and depression, increase the ability to move,and improve balance, flexibility and stability.
This class consists of a dynamic warm up, plyometrics and drills to build power, speed, agility, endurance and core strength. A total body workout that is challenging and feels like you’re training one-on-one with a private trainer. Great for all levels of fitness!
Boost your cardiovascular fitness with this refreshed mix of cardio intervals. Step aerobics is not the only thing you’ll see in this class—come for a great floor and weight workout, too!
This is an active and flowing style of yoga that focuses on alignment and breath. This practice will improve strength, flexibility and balance. This class is appropriate for all levels. Options will be given so each student is challenged and successful.
Performed in chest deep water, aqua exercise effectively improves the cardiovascular system while toning muscles, without overstressing joints. Ticket required to reserve a space in class. Tickets available 30 minutes prior to the start of class.
Yoga for All
Try this integrative yoga class for all levels and ages, youth (10 and up) and adults. Combining different styles of yoga, including: Hatha, Ashtanga, Moksha and Vinyasa. This class will incorporate balance, breathing, movement, strength and stretching to leave you feeling strong, stretched and centered.

Specifically designed class that takes the exciting Latin and international dance rhythms created in the original Zumba program and brings them to populations who may need modifications for success.
